Platform Overview

The platform is structured into three main sections that follow the natural flow of an LCA:

  1. Collecting – where you enter activity and consumption data

  2. Matching – where you link that data to environmental impact references

  3. Impact – where results are calculated and visualised in real time

In most cases, users will work through these sections in order: collect data first, match it to impact references, and then review results in the Impact section.

1. Data Collection

The Collecting section is where you provide the input data needed for impact calculations.

The Collecting overview page shows:

  • The different data collection chapters required for your assessment

  • Which chapters are complete and which still need input

This page helps you quickly understand what information is required and track your progress.

You can add or update data at any time. As soon as data is saved, it becomes available for matching.

For detailed guidance on what data to enter and how, see the Data Collection article.

2. Matching

In the Matching section, you connect your collected activity or consumption data to appropriate impact references.

Impact references can come from:

  • Integrated databases (e.g. EcoInvent, Agrifootprint, etc)

  • Custom references you add yourself, such as:

    • Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)

    • Supplier-specific or internally defined impact factors

Each dataset you collect must be matched to an impact reference in order to contribute to results.

Once data is matched, it immediately feeds into the Impact section.

For more details on matching logic, data sources, and best practices, see the Matching article.

3. Impact

The Impact section displays the calculated results of your assessment.

Key characteristics:

  • Results update live as soon as data is collected and matched

  • Multiple dashboards present results from different perspectives

  • Graphs and charts allow you to explore impacts across various dimensions and axes

This section is designed to help you understand both high-level outcomes and underlying drivers of impact.

For a detailed explanation of dashboards, metrics, and interpretation guidance, refer to the Impact article.
